Godsmack @ Charlotte Metro Credit Union

As the night begins, I’m making my way to Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amp to shoot Godsmack.  Temperatures in the high 90’s and it’s an outside venue.  It’s going to be a hot one.  As I pull up, I notice there already a line of die-hard fans braving the scorching heat.  I stopped by VBGB’s to get a quick bite to eat before I head into the venue to get all my camera gear on and get ready to embrace the scorching heat.

Here we go.  It’s that time.  Everyone’s on their feet waiting for the black curtain to drop when you hear “When Legends Rise” as they follow it by playing “1000hp”.   That’s when the pyro show begins.  Flames coming from all over.   It’s only like 100 degrees outside and now we have flames, but it was well worth it.  The band played a 17-song set followed with a great light show and pyros.  About halfway through the set, the singer “Sully Erna” stop to tell us he wanted to look at the crowd and wanted it to look like a Bon Jovi concert.  Telling all the guys to put a girl on their shoulders .

Towards the end of the evening, singer “Sully” wanted everyone to take mental health struggles seriously and shed light on the band’s effort to support the “Youth Foundation” of actor Mark Wahlberg.  Saving the best for last they played “I Stan Alone”.  What more could you ask for.  The band killed it and played their hearts out to as sold out crowd.
