Capital Theatre; LP Review

A HERO'S JOURNEY

This is a very well-produced album with a dramatic theatrical twist. They are very technically sound band that reminds me a little bit of dream theater and Sixx a.m. Lyrically they have songs with a message. A Hero’s Journey is a quality debut LP, and if you’re a fan of progressive style music, this album is for you. The guitar leads have a graceful clean flow to them. The drums have a great tone to them and have very complex likes to them. Definitely like the piano intro for “Long Way Home”, “Second Skin” and “Better Than This“. My favorite song is “Delicately Poised” but there wasn’t a song on the LP I didn’t like. Absolutely check out Capital Theater’s “a Hero’s Journey” and I can’t wait till they have a US tour so we can see them live.

Recorded with Grammy Award-winning Mike Clink (Guns N’ RosesSteve Vai), the phenomenal freshman release has unleashed several already runaway viral videos, including “Fait Accompli”! Produced, directed and edited by Brian Cox, and co-directed by Jena N. Serbu, “Fait Accompli” has stunned fans, with over 3 million views since its June 24th unveiling.

“The hero’s journey is the blueprint for so many great stories of our time, and so we decided to map out the album based on that framework. It begins at the status quo, then moves through coming-of-age and the call to adventure, the trials and tribulations and then finally the moment of triumph over adversity. It was such rich territory to write against, and ended up giving us this amazing template for examining the human experience.” – Adam Stevenson (Front-Man)
