Look out…, probably one of the best bands I’ve seen in a long time. Formally know as Emphatic, they recently changed the name to Through Fire alone with a new label and a few new members. Front man Grant Kendrick knew how take control of the room, with his strong and unique vocals grabbed our attention right off the bat. The band songs are well written and radio ready. They didn’t have any music for sale at the merchandise table, I definitely would have bought a CD. I was told they would have an early spring release of their new album.
Lead guitar and founding member Justin McCain set the mood with his ketch riffs and rocking leads definitely kept the us entertained. Bassist Jesse Saint was very solid and equally entertaining. Keeping the whole show together, drummer Patrick Mussack, watching him was a show in itself. Over all the band was high energy and a very strong performance.
The band is based out of Omaha Nebraska and is on tour with Adelitas Way and Failure Anthem. Already a great line-up, it was a great choice to add Through Fire to the tour, and judging all the smile in the crowd I think everyone would agree. Even a locale promoter turned to me and said “These guys are good” even he was impressed. There was a lot of media there covering the show, they all had the same reaction. I was told by most everyone in the crowd, they didn’t want them to stop playing, good thing we had two more great bands left to preforms. Definitely keep your eyes and ears open for Though Fire, I see big things for this band and can’t wait to see them again.
