Soul of the South Music Festival: A Celebration of Country Rap

From July 4th through the 6th, the picturesque Silverado’s in Black Mountain, North Carolina, played host to the Soul of the South Music Festival, a vibrant celebration of Southern music and culture. Nestled in the serene backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this three-day event brought together music enthusiasts from all walks of life to enjoy an unforgettable lineup of Rap, country, and hip-hop artists.

A Star-Studded Lineup

The festival featured an impressive roster of artists, headlined by the likes of Outlaw Nation, Upchurch, and Adam Calhoun. Each brought their unique sound and energy to the stage, captivating the audience and creating an electric atmosphere that resonated throughout the venue.

Day 1 headliner was Outlaw Nation kicked off the festival with their signature blend of Southern rock and country. Known for their high-energy performances and heartfelt lyrics, they set the tone for the weekend with fan favorites and new hits alike. Their music, often described as a mix of traditional country with a modern twist, was the perfect opening act for the festival.

Day 2 headliner Upchurch, a multifaceted artist blending country, rap, and rock, followed with a performance that was nothing short of spectacular. His raw and unapologetic style, coupled with his ability to connect with the audience, made for an unforgettable show. Upchurch’s set included hits like “Holler Boys” and “Rolling Stoned,” which had the crowd singing along and dancing.

Day 3 headliner Adam Calhoun, known for his gritty and honest approach to music, closed out the festival with a powerful performance. His blend of country rap and hard-hitting lyrics resonated with the audience, making his set one of the highlights of the weekend. Songs like “Clean Money” and “Life Goes On” echoed through the venue, leaving a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.

The Soul of the South Music Festival was more than just a series of concerts; it was a full-fledged cultural experience. Attendees had the opportunity to explore a variety of food trucks and vendors offering southern cuisine, from mouth-watering barbecue to good old corn dogs and funnel cakes.  They also had cigars for the men from “864 Mobile Cigars” and “Trinity Pharms” for all your hemp needs.

One of the standout features of the Soul of the South Music Festival was its family-friendly environment. Children were welcomed with open arms.  Thanks to Host “Justin Time” for letting the children get on stage and do their thing. 

The Soul of the South Music Festival was not only a celebration of music but also a tribute to Southern culture and heritage. The festival paid homage to the rich musical traditions of the South while also showcasing modern interpretations and evolutions of these genres. It was a place where the old and new came together, creating a unique and memorable experience for all who attended.

As the final notes of Adam Calhoun’s set echoed through the mountains, it was clear that the Soul of the South Music Festival had left a lasting impact on its attendees. The festival organizers have already hinted at plans for next year’s event, promising an even bigger and better experience.
