Keith Urban Ignites Charlotte with Electrifying “High and Alive” Tour Stop
PNC Music Pavilion – May 30, 2025

Keith Urban rolled into Charlotte on May 30 for a high-energy stop on his “High and Alive World Tour”, and true to the tour’s name, the night was alive with stadium-worthy energy, emotional singalongs, and Urban’s signature guitar wizardry. The PNC Music Pavilion crowd ranging from die-hard country fans to casual summer concert goers was treated to a show that was part rock concert, part heartwarming gathering.

Opening with “Straight Line,” the lead single off his latest album High, Urban wasted no time diving into a dynamic set that balanced new material with the classics fans came to hear. His second song, “Where the Blacktop Ends,” drew immediate cheers and signaled that the night would be a journey through his deep catalog.

Urban’s stage presence was magnetic. He worked every corner of the amphitheater—at one point hopping on a smaller stage near the lawn, bringing the performance to fans far from the front. He engaged in playful banter with the crowd, even Face Timing a fan’s family member in a feel-good moment that showcased his down-to-earth charm. It’s clear Urban doesn’t just perform at his fan she performs with them.

Highlights of the night included a thunderous version of “Somebody Like You,” a soulful rendition of “Blue Ain’t Your Color,” and an emotional take on “Tonight I Wanna Cry” that brought some fans to tears. “You’ll Think of Me” had the crowd swaying, while “You Look Good in My Shirt” brought the house down with a raucous, arena-level energy.

Urban’s guitar work remains one of the most underrated aspects of his artistry. His solos were fast, fiery, and precise, yet always served the songs rather than overshadowing them. Backed by a tight band and impressive production, the entire show had the feel of a major festival headliner act rather than a routine tour stop.

Sound quality was excellent in most areas, though lawn-goers noted the occasional muddiness during bass-heavy moments. Still, these minor inconveniences did little to dim the experience for most in attendance.

By the end of the night, as Urban closed out with an explosive encore featuring “You Look “Good in My Shirt,” it was clear that the show had left an impression. Fans walked away singing, smiling, and already counting the days until his next return to the Queen City.
