Shinedown @ Ovens Auditorium

I’ve been a big fan of shinedown  since the first time I herd their music on XM radio’s Octane and have been waiting for the chance to see their live show. I’ve seen Zack Myers (lead guitar) several times on his solo acoustic show and really enjoyed it, but I was ready to hear and seeing them plugged in. I wasn’t surprised to hear it was a sold out show. As always Brent Smith vocals were outstanding and stronger then ever. The band over all put on a amazing, high energy performance along with mixing  in acoustical ballads. Definitely one of the better light shows I’ve seen in a while, it was nice to see a band using follow spots, it makes a big difference lighting up front of the stage, to may bands light shows only come from back of stage, with out using any front wash and you tend to lose the musicians in the dark, making it hard to see what they are doing. The sound wasn’t bad, a little muddy at first, then it sounded lick he got it dialed in, definitely a hard room to mix in. I don’t think anyone went home disappointed or with any voices left after singing along with the band.
